Better late than never
So blogging has been on hold.
There are very good reasons for this.
My baby arrived.
Shortly after my previous 'wordless wednesday' post, I collapsed and had an emergency c-section at 30 weeks. So February and March kind of passed me by.
Little skittle is home and doing well now though (he's still not due yet!) and I needed to do something therapeutic...enter scrapbooking. I had done loads of JYC already and had always planned to finish it during my maternity leave, but I didn't have any pre-baby! So over the last 2 days I've just made a few quickie layouts and put the finishing touches on a few unfinished ones. I also decided to abandon my Jan 1-6th pages, it was more important to me to have a finished album than a long one.
I LOVE this album. I have visions of Great-great-great Grandchildren finding it all dusty and damp in an attic one day and reading through my handwritten notes and pondering such aged photographs of their family history. Well, even if that doesn't happen, I still really like it.
It's kind of a one off. I know loads of people do JYC every year and I have done it for 3 years now but never so comprehensively. 2011 was a landmark year for us, as it was the last Christmas for just us as a couple...so my idea was that I'd create this album following all the daily prompts from Shimelle.com and also add in extras to document this specific Christmas and record many, many memories and traditions from our childhood.
And here it is I've never made a video before but there was no way I could be bothered to photograph every layout!!
...JYC 2011 complete.
Hurrah!

twenty twelve ~ week one
Year in Review
I'm behind.
I knew it would happen.
I'd go on holiday, come back, hit the ground running and play catch up for weeks.
Well, that's kind of what happened.
So for now, here is my year in review...
It was really hard to just choose a couple of photos to represent each month! It was such a mammoth year, not one of my favourites but definitely one I'll remember.
Goodbye 2011!
